The company relies on an enterprise business model to diversify its funding. Coleman’s foundation and three enterprise companies produce more than 25 percent of the company’s funding for its award-winning programs.
My name is Kathy Myers, and I am the Public Relations Executive at Coleman Professional Services, headquartered in Kent, Ohio. I would like to do my best to communicate with you through educating and informing you about mental health and how Coleman functions as a provider of mental health services.
Mental health can be such a “taboo” topic at times; however, the reality is that approximately 1 in 4 individuals will experience a mental illness in their lifetime, and we need to be aware that it is OK to talk about it because some of these individuals are part of our families, close friends or maybe even ourselves.
I often come in contact with many people who have various responses when I talk about my job in mental health, especially in promoting the awareness of the specific providers and services. I think it is the perceptions and stigmas so many of us have witnessed or may hold personally that are so interesting to learn about and discuss.
My hope is to foster a relationship and offer a bit of insight by relaying the latest happenings and weekly encounters with the public in regards to my job in this field and also break down the barriers with discussions of topics about mental health.
